Taking care is much more than treating
Our structure provides social and health care assistance to Italian and foreign citizens. The specialist services available are in charge of the Italian National Health Service and adopt an integrated and multidisciplinary approach. This involves that each person is assisted by a team composed of doctors, nurses, cultural mediators, psychologists and anthropologists. The appropriate tests and treatment to be provided are identified through the assessment of the specific needs of each person, who is conceived as unique and, as such, having particular demands and requirements. The NIHMP’s model also includes the abatement of waiting lists. Each person starts his/her assistance path on the same day he/she arrives at the NIHMP outpatient department. As we well know that physical wellbeing is essentially connected with a situation of welfare and social safety nets, we assist all citizens in the protection of their rights. This is why, besides medical assistance, at NIHMP advice and help are provided to access the services of the National Health System and the social services, and to obtain the codes STP (temporarily staying foreigner) and ENI (non-registered European citizen).
Our main objective is not to impose our framework on people, but to adjust it to their needs.
