On Saturday, 20 December at the NIHMP, the Undersecretary for Health Eugenia Roccella and NIHMP Director General Aldo Morrone presented the “Project for the Promotion of Migrants’ Access to Health Care Services and implementation of information and advice activities in Italian Local Health Services (ASL)”. The Director General of the Immigration Department of the Ministry of Labour, Health and Social Policies, Dr. Maurizio Giuseppe Silveri, participated in the event. The project aims at facilitating and empowering the interaction between migrants, health care services and health providers in order to enhance the intervention and to guarantee equal access, also taking into account cultural peculiarities. The project also provides the promotion of information and advice activities by creating information services in Italian ASL and involving transcultural mediators. Beneficiaries of the Project are migrants living in different Italian regions, whose community is largely represented and social and health professionals from 40 Italian Local Health Services.
