Transcultural Mediation Course on “Migration and HIV/AIDS Prevention”

The training course on “Migration and HIV/AIDS Prevention” started at NIHMP on 1 February 2010.

The main aim of the AIDS & Mobility Europe project is to reduce HIV vulnerability of migrant

promotion of appropriate policies and measures within a European wide network of
experts.

It is financed by the Executive Agency for Health and Consumers (EAHC) of the European Commission and guided by the Ethno-Medical Centre (Hannover). Six European partners are involved: NIHMP (Italy), AIDS Fondet (Denmark), AIDS-i Tugikeskus (Estonia), European AIDS Treatment Group, Terrence Higgins Trust (United Kingdom), Yeniden (Turkey).

The 52-hour training course deals with topics related to HIV/AIDS, specialized services and regulations in force.

At the end of the course, participants will receive a small amount of money for organizing and managing a community session aimed at preventing HIV/AIDS diffusion and will receive a European Certification of Transcultural Mediation Specialized Course on “Migration and HIV/AIDS Prevention”.
