XIV International Course of Transcultural Medicine

NIHMP, together with the Department of Preventive Medicine, Tourism and Tropical Dermatology of San Gallicano Scientific Institute for Research, Hospitalization and Health Care and IISMAS (International Institute for Social, Medical and Anthropological Sciences), organized the XIV International Course of Transcultural Medicine. The course, divided in 6 monthly sessions from January to June, dealt with health promotion, disease prevention, early diagnosis, treatment and follow up of people at risk of social exclusion (migrants, asylum seekers, victims of trafficking, homeless, nomads, pensioner receiving minimum income, unemployed and short term workers).
Purpose of the course was to supply upgrade material on the social and cultural health determinants and help participants to identify and control health inequalities and to assess the impact of economical and social factors on health.
The course, free and MCE accredited, was open to doctors, psychologists, anthropologists, social and health workers, nurses, cultural mediators, teachers and students.
