The Press Conference on “Progetto Etiopia. The right to life and to beauty in developed and developing countries” was held on 29 January 2010 at NIHMP.

The project is the result of the collaboration of NIHMP and the dermo-cosmetic brand Vichy for dermatological training and prevention. The objective of the initiative is to develop a medical and scientific cooperation through the field study of the most diffused skin diseases in developing countries and in the Tropics.

The “Progetto Etiopia” provides a 60-day training for 15 young doctors specialized or specializing in Dermatology at the Italian Dermatological Centre (IDC) of the Ayder University in Mekele, capital of Tigray Region.

The young doctors will work in the different wards of the Hospital, in the Outpatients’ Department and in the woredas of Tigray Region and will be tutored by Italian and foreign professionals during the whole training.

They will also be involved in the Tropical Dermatology training, study, and scientific research activities, and will have the possibility to live an extraordinary human and professional experience.
