Evento conclusivo del Progetto Pass

The PASS Project closing event was held on 30 September at the NIHMP-Ancient San Gallicano Hospital. On the occasion, the outcomes of the project and a publication by the NIHMP were presented.
Groups of transcultural mediators and some ASL (Local Health Service) representatives spoke about their direct experience as main actors of the PASS Project.
At the end of the meeting, attendance certificates were delivered both to transcultural mediators and ASL representatives.
The Project started in February 2009 and was aimed at promoting migrants’ access to social and health care services and at carrying out information and advice activities in Italian ASL and hospitals.
The project is supported by the Ministry of Labour, Health and Social Policies and has been implemented by the work of 50 local health care structures. It has provided a theory part, the National Course of Transcultural Medicine and a practical on-the-job training. The 400-hour training course dealt with themes related to health care mediation, it provided a 200-hour theory part and a 200-hour apprenticeship in the partner structures where attendants has been tutored by an expert cultural mediator. The second part of the project has provided a 6-month on-the-job training in the involved health care structures.
