Award ceremony for the competition "Mi piace...un mondo"

The final award ceremony for the competition "Mi piace...un mondo" was held on 20 April 2010 at the Great Hall of the “G. Galileo” School. The competition was organised within the food education project “Intergustando: The meeting of tastes and the taste for meeting” and involved primary and secondary schools of Lazio Region. The project, supported by the Education Office of Lazio Region, was carried out by the National Institute for Health, Migration and Poverty-NIHMP with the objective to promote healthy and correct food habits from an intercultural perspective.

124 classes from 32 schools in the Lazio Region submitted 75 works (i.e. posters, booklets, hypertexts, CD/DVD, short films, documentaries, thematic maps) on the food habits of one of the most representative emigration countries towards Italy. Environmental, nutritional and cultural aspects of the above mentioned countries were described, and their healthy habits (nutrition + physical activity) were compared to those of Italy.

Dr. Maria Teresa Silani, on behalf of Dr. Maria Maddalena Novelli, Director of the Education Office of Lazio Region, Prof. Aldo Morrone, Director Genral of the NIHMP, Dr. Paola Scardella, coordinator of the project at the NIHMP and the NIHMP staff involved in the project participated in the event.

All the participant classes received a digital camera and a certificate of participation and the three winning classes received a notebook. The jury also decided to assign three special mentions to the best works among the remaining ones.

A multiethnic buffet prepared by the “Pellegrino Artusi” Vocational School for Tourism, Hotel Management and Catering in Rome was offered to all participants.

A tutti i partecipanti, inoltre, è stato offerto un buffet multietnico a cura di IPSSAR “Pellegrino Artusi” di Roma.
