Creation of the Legal Advice Bureau
17 October 2008
NIHMP conference hall
On 17 October 2008, the International Day for the Eradication of Poverty, the Legal Advice Bureau of Avvocato di strada (Street lawyer) non-profit Association was opened at San Gallicano Institute.
A qualified legal advice service is now available for the citizens deprived of their rights. This important initiative was realized through an agreement between NIHMP and Avvocato di strada non-profit Association.
The voluntary lawyers of Avvocato di strada offer free assistance to homeless and marginalized people in need of legal advice. The service is available on Thursday afternoons and it is not necessary to have an appointment or to be referred by another service.
To face the challenges produced by globalization, NIHMP and Avvocato di strada share their expertise in order to help the most vulnerable groups in Rome. Through their territorial centres, they collect data and monitor marginalized people conditions to provide them social and medical support.
