The NIHMP participates in the 10th National Tuberculosis Programme (NTP) Managers’ Meeting- Wolfheze Workshops
The 10th National Tuberculosis Programme (NTP) Managers’ Meeting and the Wolfheze Workshops will be held from 25 to 27 May 2011. The events, organised by the KNVC Tubercolosis Foundation together with WHO/Europe and the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC), will be at the Atlantic Hotel in Kijkduin, The Hague.
The Workshops will offer a platform to present the latest evidence for the development of effective TB control policies and to exchange experiences in implementation of efficient TB control strategies. Particular attention will be dedicated to programmatic management of drug-resistant TB and the endorsement of the consolidated Action Plan to Prevent and Control M/XDR-TB in the WHO European Region, 2011-2015. Other discussion points will be TB in children, drug management, cross border TB control and care, TB in big cities, active case-finding in high risk groups, patient-centred approach, TB-HIV and vulnerable groups, and involvement of civil societies in TB control.
The NIHMP will participate in the session on Pan European Cross Border TB control on 27 May. Dr Annalisa Rosso will speak about the experience of the Institute for the control of TB among migrant populations in Italy.
