Conference "With Migrants for Migrants: Improving HIV Prevention for All"
The International Organisation for Migration (IOM) promoted the Conference "With Migrants for Migrants: Improving HIV Prevention for All" - Bruxelles, November 30th, 2010.
Organised on the occasion of the World AIDS Day (December 1st), the event aimed at outlining the weight of HIV/AIDS in Europe, especially among migrants. The Conference was also an occasion for the AIDS&Mobility (A&M 2007-2010) network to meet: the outcomes and the effective communication model of the project were presented. Indeed the A&M approach, used to diffuse information about HIV prevention among migrant communities, will be adopted in other countries for different issues.
The AIDS & Mobility project is coordinated by the Ethno-Medical Centre (EMZ, Hannover) in collaboration with the WHO, the European AIDS Treatment Group (EATG) and the National Institute for Health, Migration and Poverty (NIHMP).
Prof. Aldo Morrone, NIHMP Director General, Dr Ilaria Uccella, NIHMP infectious disease expert, and Dr Raffaele Di Palma, NIHMP researcher, participated in the Conference.
