3rd Conference of Migrant and Ethnic Minority Health in Europe

University of Pécs Medical School, Hungary - 27-29 May 2010

3rd Conference of Migrant and Ethnic Minority Health in Europe

The world is changing, and global migration is contributing to that change

The 3rd Conference of Migrant and Ethnic Minority Health in Europe organised by the European Public Health Association (EUPHA) will be held in Hungary on 27-29 May 2010 at the University of Pécs Medical School.

In our globalized world migration is a multifaceted and complex issue, which nowadays concerns every country in the World. An estimated more than 200 million people are living outside their country of origin. Europe as one of the most preferred target areas for migrants – economically benefits from this.

On the other hand, Europe is struggling with the responsibility for providing conditions necessary for facilitating their integration and preventing possible societal and political side effects. Health (care)/ public health aspects should be considered as priority issues. At the same time ethnic minorities living in Europe are frequently facing similar problems.

The European Forum organised by the European Public Health Association brings together researchers, academics, health and social care professionals and policy makers at EU and country level with the objective to contribute to developing a shared view on values and principles, health needs and adequate responses.

Prof. Aldo Morrone, NIHMP Director General will participate to the event as one of the main speakers.
