Guide and Control Board
The Guide and Control Board is regulated by M.D, 3/8/2007, Art. 5, Par. 2. It is composed by five qualified members who are in their office for three years and can be re-elected. The Ministry of Labour, Health and Social Policies appoints two members; the remaining three are designated by the Presidents of the Regions of Latium, Apulia and Sicily. The President is chosen among the five members by the Ministry of Labour, Health and Social Policies.
The members of the Guide and Control Board should have appropriate and documented independence, professionalism and honourableness requirements. They should also be experienced in the juridical and administrative field, in the economic and business sector, or in the organization and management of scientific research.
Tasks of the Guide and Control Board:
a) Define the strategic guidelines of the Institute, to approve the short and long-term activity plans and to verify their achievement;
b) Express a preventive advice to the Director General on the budget plan, the final balance, the alienation of property and on the establishment or participation in societies, cooperatives, boards and associations;
c) Submit to the approval of the Director General the members of the Scientific Committee;
d) Control the activities of the Institute and its outcomes compared with the fixed guidelines and objectives.
